Training Requirements
Course requirements – attendance:
- Attendance of nine weekends in London
- Successful completion of 60 hours of Mother and Baby Observation under supervision with Lucy Fuller at 8AKP in Cambridge
- Attendance of Adult Skills course at 8AKP in Cambridge
- Personal therapy is recommended but not required

Course requirements – placements:
- 50 hours supervised clinical work with children of all ages
- UKCP registration we would require a minimum of 450 clinical hours (50 with Terapia) in the following ratio:

- 100 hours (minimum) with children 6-11 years of age
- 100 hours (minimum) with adolescents 12-18 years of age
- 25 hours (minimum) with children 0-5 years of age
- 25 hours (minimum) of reflective practice with parents
- 25 hours (minimum) with adult clients

- 100 hours of Mental Health Familiarisation Placement – where relevant
Candidates need to fulfil the following entry requirements:
- Candidates who have successfully completed the Cambridge University course in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling;
- Candidates must have completed a minimum of three years of personal psychotherapy;
- Personal qualities and an aptitude to work with vulnerable children.

Fees
Course Fees
Terapia is a Registered Charity (Charity Number 1144041) and does not profit from course fees. Course fees include all charges for tutorials, art materials and assessment of written assignments.
An initial, non-refundable deposit of £550 is required to secure your place on this course and that is deducted from your fees. Students who opt to pay their fees in full before the start of the academic year will receive a discount of £60, however students may choose to pay fees in monthly or termly instalments. All students pay a university registration fee.

Dissertation marking and binding: £510
Dissertation re-submission fee (if applicable): £690
Advanced Clinical Competency Viva: £550
Pre-Graduation retainer fee (if applicable): £350
In the event of student’s change of personal circumstances resulting in difficulty in meeting financial obligation they should contact the Course Director as soon as possible so that a mutually appropriate solution can be sought. Late fees will incur interest. If a student decides to withdraw from the training part way through the year, the full fees for that year are payable. If a student has been asked to withdraw from the training the fees payable are up to and including that term.
Students who have completed the training but have not submitted their course work and have not completed all course requirements will be charged an annual administration fee until they fully graduate.
Funding
Students who currently work with children or young people may choose to approach their employer to fund or part-fund the training, particularly if the skills acquired will directly contribute to their current job. Terapia will assist and support students wishing to make such applications.
