The Terapia Open Evening event – A wonderful time had by all!
The Terapia open day proved to be a wondefuly successful event! Throughout the event music played, songs sung and even some magic took place courtesy of Christopher, our masterly magician.
Armed with refreshments guests explored the newly restored charm of the Bothy Gardens and sprawling Terapia Centre. We were so pleased with the reaction, many commented on how glad they were to see the vision finally come to fruition and the scope of what that lies ahead.
It was great to see real interest in the Bothy history display, especially from Gordon Westgate – our Guest of Honour, he was born and lived in the Bothy while his father was first Superintendent of Parks for Barnet. Great effort was made to link back to and commemorate to the The Bothy’s auspicious beginnings in the display, to illustrate it’s evolving and growing the role within the local community.
Undoubtedly, when the time capsule that was buried at the event is eventually rediscovered the legacy of Terapia’s much needed work will have allowed it to grow into an even more far-reaching charitable organisation than it is today. This important work will always be necessary.
It goes with out saying that none of this could have been possible without the huge support of the Heritage lottery Fund, the borough of Barnet, our donors, volunteers, architect, builders and so many more. A very big thank you to you all.
